Patience is a virtue.
Unfortunately I have none.
I want things to happen when I want them to happen.
That is not the way the world works.
What happens will happen when it happens.
You can fight that if you would like, but it is a losing battle.
Resistance to this fact is your ego telling you that you are more important than anyone else and the world should bend to your will.
Acceptance of this fact will make your life much easier.
“Patience is about actually showing up for the life you have instead of the one you’re anticipating or mourning.” – Daily Verse newsletter
Whatever you are waiting for will happen or not when it happens.
Misery while waiting for it is optional.
“To bear trials with a calm mind robs misfortune of its strength and burden.” – Hercules Oetaeus, Seneca
Life will happen on its own schedule.
We have very little control over that especially when it comes to people, places, and things.
All we can ask for patience to accept what happens when it happens.
